Back to Old Times- Siem Reap

Siem Reap-means "Defeat of Siam".  Now serves as a small gateway town to the world heritage site of Angkor Wat.  It is a vibrant town with modern hotels and restaurants, still managing to preserve much of its culture and traditions. Also ranked fourth in the World's Best Cities of Travel and Leisure survey in 2014. (source:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siem_Reap)

The photos I took in visiting  Phnom Krom, Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bakheng, Phnom Bok,  Ta Prohm, Pre Rup and other nearby temples.

Angkor Wat- Sunrise

The experience in visiting the ruins of old temples in Siem Reap.  Despite of  thousand years had passed, the local government with the help of foreign countries, these old temples have been  reconstructed and restored  to preserve its cultural heritage, its history and pride of Cambodians.

My own photographs taken during my 3-day visit in Seam Reap

Below is the link for more information of the Angkor Pass. There is only one authorized outlet in buying ticket to have an access in  Angkor Wat and other temples in Siem Reap.

Final Road Trip in Bali

Bali is a lush paradise island. Famed for its art, recreation, culture, traditions, and warm greetings of Balinese people.
For my seven months stay in this magical island, full of memories from the people I met. Language as the major barrier for me. This serve as a motivation to learn the dialect and embrace their culture.

I will never forget the people who are good to me. They are like angels  who served as my guardians while living alone in this island.

February 15th,  scheduled flight bound to Langkawi Malaysia.

I want to share the photos I took during my road trip with the help of Pak Ketut (Gojek)
From Karangasem to Kintamani, Bedugul, Buleleng, Tabanan and Bangli.

Chasing "Air Terjun" in Bali

A day before my flight bound to Langkawi, Malaysia.
Chasing waterfalls of Kanto Lampo, Tibumana, Tukad Campuhan and Dusun Kuning.

February 14, 2017
Celebrating Valentine's day in the forest (*_^)

Dusun Kuning has a narrow steep stairs going down to chase this waterfall. Be careful of wet season in visiting this place. The soil is so sticky and slippery based on my experience. I grabbed a walking stick while going down the slope, hold tight on a branch of tree or even plants. Once you slipped over, either you will end up straight to the stony waterfall or on a damp ground full of dried leaves and twigs.   Going back, I have to crawl because the stairs are so slippery full of algae and moss.

Explore Bali (Part 3)

December 22, 2016
Bjara Sandhi Monument- is a monument to commemorate the Balinese struggle against the Dutch colonialism and keep maintain the fundamental of Bali tourism based on local cultures

January 24, 2017
4:30am- call time from my accommodation (Gang Pipit 4, Batubulan)
Past 6am- reached Lake Batur
I and Pak Ketut (Gojek-Bike driver) inquire at Mt. Batur Trekking booth regarding the entrance fee to climb Batur. A rude Balinese guy named Ketut Kawi, informed us to pay IDR400,000/pax.  Pak Ketut said, he was  from Batubulan and I am working in Bali.
We asked for discount and showed him my KITAS ID, but he declined and the unforgettable statement he said to us, "No!!, go back to your hotel."
We had an argument regarding that statement.

We detour, and find another route to reach at least the foot of the mountain

We took another route. And I found out, the entrance fee is only IDR 10,000. This is how far I walked. Pak Ketut, stayed at the entrance gate. Unsuccessful to reach the summit but at least I tried.
